GALACTIC EMPIRES
Card Museum Gift Shop

Introduction

Every museum needs a gift shop. Whether you are new to the game or a long time collector I likely have some products below that will interest you. I recently acquired a large lot of sealed Booster Boxes from various sets which has prompted me to set up my site for direct sales of both these boxes and card singles. You can select items you want to purchase in my Order Form page.

I have many of these items listed on eBay under galacticempirescardmuseum and if you are more comfortable ordering from eBay then please do. However, I can offer a better price and more items and options through direct sales.

If you are new to the game you should download the original v2.0 Rulebook PDF or check out the v2.1 Rulebook webpage.

See Below for more information on ordering, shipping, and payment.

New Players Guide

I've had several people ask me wwhat a new player should pick up in order to play the game. The absolute best suggestion would be some Universe Edition starter decks, but unforunately the lot I acquired didn't have any. There are a couple eBay retailers that have them, and I've purchased from both in the past. Riverfront9000 has a "Retail Display" which contains 6 starters and 60 boosters for $59. pbmexpressusa has a "Tournament Kit" which contains 20 starters and 60 boosters for $199.

From what I have available, go with Universe Edition Booster Boxes. Every Starter has 20 fixed empire specific cards, 24 Terrain from a fixed set, and 56 other cards that are essentially booster pack fills (eight sets of 1 VR, 2 R, and 4 U/C). Every booster pack in a booster box contains 1 Terrain from that fixed set and 2 of the fixed empire specific cards from two different empires. With 36 packs in a box you'll get 36 of the Terrain and 72 of the fixed empire cards. With 3 booster boxes you'll get most of the 100 Terrain from that set and the 200 fixed empire cards from the starters.

Aside from the Universe Booster Boxes, I have some Primary Basic Deck A and Deck B available. These starters from the earlier set aren't as good as the Universe Starters, but do have a good starting mix of terrain, ships, and a printed rulebook (though the v2.0 Rulebook PDF is probably the best place for new players to go).

After you get 2-3 Universe Booster Boxes and the Primary decks in hand then anything else is a good choice. 1-3 Time Gates will add a number of good power cards and play options to the game. 1-3 Powers of the Mind will add three unique new empires you can play. And more Universe Edition booster packs will expand upon the 10 core empires from that set. So they are all good choices depending on which way you wan to go.

Products for Sale

Rulebook v2.0 Reprint

$2.00. This is a reprint of the v2.0 Rulebook taken from high quality scans, printed on 8.5" × 11" paper, folded in half and staple bound into an 5.5" × 8.5" booklet sized rulebook. This gives much larger print than the orginal 2.5" × 3.5" booklet which came in Starters.

Universe Edition Starter Set (300 Cards)

$30.00/Set. I have put together a limited number these Starter Sets which I intend mainly to help new players since I don't have any Universe Edition Starters for sale, therefore I'm limiting these sets to one per customer.

The original release of Universe Edition had 10 different starters, each themed for one of ten different empires. Each starter contained 100 cards, 20 of which were fixed (non-random) themed for the empire, 24 random Terrain taken from the Terrain Sheet, and 56 other random cards.

This set includes all 20 fixed cards from each of the 10 starters. These 200 cards appeared on the Group 3 and Group 4 Starter Print Sheets. In addition this set also includes all 100 terrain cards from the Terrain Print Sheet. This includes 65 Very Rare cards, 90 Rare cards, 79 Uncommon cards, and 66 Common and Very Common cards for a total of 300 cards. Each set will also come with an original Rulebook v2.0 and a reprinted Rulebook v2.0 (see above).

Note that there are many duplicates in this set because rarity for these cards was based on how many times a card was duplicated on one of the print sheets. See the Group 3, Group 4, and Terrain Sheet pages for a full listing of all of the cards included in this set.

Series U - Universe Edition Starters (Sealed)

$8.00/starter. Universe Edition has 10 different starters, each themed for one specific empire. I have a small number of factory sealed Starters avaiable. Each of the starter decks is a combination of 20 fixed empire specific cards and 80 semi-random cards. The 80 cards are divided into eight groups of 10 cards which consist of 3 Terrain Sheet cards, 1 Very Rare, 2 Rares, and 4 Common or Uncommon cards. This set of 10 cards forms part of a booster pack, so each starter contains more-or-less the contents of 8 booster packs.

$8.00/starter. Universe Edition has 10 different starters, each themed for one specific empire. While all the items below this are new/sealed, I repacked these decks from cards I opened in booster packs. Each of the starter decks is a combination of 20 fixed cards and 80 semi-random cards.

So I was able to repack these starters by pulling the fixed cards from packs I'd already opened and filling the semi-random cards by opening up booster packs to fill the random cards in the deck. The one thing I was able to do that the original starters didn't was to remove the random cards which didn't belong to the decks empire and move them to starters of the appropriate empire. This means that every deck has some of the "random" cards of appropriate rarities will belong to the decks themed empire, including some Very Rare cards.

Series U - Universe Edition (New/Sealed)

$20.00/box. Each booster box contains 36 packs, each pack contains 14 cards. Every box contains 1 Ultra-Rare Entity card in a random pack, and some boxes have 2 Entities. The set has 10 Entities to collect.

This is the final core set of Galactic Empires. If you are new to the game or looking to grow a small collecton this is the product you want to buy first. It contains cards supporting the ten core empires (Argonian, Clydon, Corporate, Space Dragon, Krebiz, Mechad, P.O.T., Scorpead, Tufor, and Vektrean).

Each Starter for this set contained 20 fixed cards for one empire. So there were a total of 200 fixed cards (20 cards for each of 10 empires). Each booster pack contains two of the fixed cards, one each from from two different Starters for this set. This means that 3-4 booster boxes will garner you close to the contents of all 10 starters (36 packs x 2 cards per pack x 3 boxes = 218 cards).

$0.60/pack. Each pack contains 14 cards. I have some loose packs. These packs come from a box I fished the Entity out of, but some boxes have two Entities so you still have a chance of pulling one from these loose packs, just a reduced chance from a sealed box.

Series V - Time Gates (New/Sealed)

$12.50/box. Each booster box contains 36 packs, each pack contains 12 cards. Every box contains 1 Ultra-Rare Entity card in a random pack, and some boxes have 2 Entities. The set has 4 Entities to collect.

Time Gates is a well regarded expansion to the game. It has a lot of interesting "Time" cards which are reasonably powerful. It introduces two new minor empires, both of which have some interesting effects. Adding a few boxes of Time Gates to your collection will greatly improve gameplay.

$0.35/pack. Each pack contains 12 cards.

I have some loose packs. These packs come from a box I fished the Entity out of, but some boxes have two Entities so you still have a chance of pulling one from these loose packs, just a reduced chance from a sealed box.

Series IV - Powers of the Mind (New/Sealed)

$10.00/box. Each booster box contains 36 packs, each pack contains 12 cards. Every box contains 1 Ultra-Rare Entity card in a random pack, and some boxes have 2 Entities. The set has 4 Entities to collect.

Powers of the Mind introduces 3 new empires to the game which are all crew-based (as opposed to the ship-based empires of the other sets). These empires play uniquely from any of the other empires, and when the game was new introducing these empires in an expansion like this was not the best idea as it could be hard to get enough cards for any empire to play it. However, now you can buy an entire booster box fairly cheap. One box will likely get you enough cards to play any of these three empires, and with 2-3 boxes you should get enough cards to fully customize a deck.

$0.30/pack. Each pack contains 12 cards.

I have some loose packs. These packs come from a box I fished the Entity out of, but some boxes have two Entities so you still have a chance of pulling one from these loose packs, just a reduced chance from a sealed box.

Series G - German Gold Border (New/Sealed)

$12.50/box. Each booster box contains 36 packs, each pack contains 12 cards. Every box contains 1 Ultra-Rare Entity card in a random pack.

This set was a German translation of the Series II Primary Edition, though the set contained only 299 out of the 439 cards from that set.

$0.35/pack. Each pack contains 12 cards.

I have some loose packs. These packs come from a box I fished the Entity out of, and since there is only one Entity per box there shouldn't be an Entity in any of these, so I'm offering them at a reduced price compared to the sealed booster boxes.

$10.00/box. Each box contains 12 Starters; 6 Basic Deck A and 6 Basic Deck B.

$1.00/starter. Basic Deck A and Basic Deck B are unique from each other, but each starter contains a fixed set of Common cards and 5 random Uncommon cards.

Series II - Primary Edition Starters (New/Sealed)

$1.00/starter. Primary Edition was the first large core set for the game (Series I had a limited print run and card pool). There were two different Starter Decks, Basic Deck A & B. I have a limited number of loose decks I can offer. These decks contain a fixed mix of 50 Common cards each plus 5 random Uncommon cards. Because of this they aren't very collectible or valuable, but they do contain the original v1.0 Rulebook. Since they are mostly useful to new players wanting a printed rulebook I'm limiting the quantity to 1 of each per order.

Single Cards (New/Sealed)

I've recently added around 1,800 single cards for purchase to my site (with multiple copies of some available, tens of thousands of cards in total). These come mixed from cards I've purchased over the last 25 years as well as many cards from the lot I recently acquired which I opened and sorted. Most of the cards are in good shape, though some show signs of having been packed away and stacked (particulaly some of the cards have some surface marks from the booster pack seams).

In addition Galactic Emires was notorious for having miscut cards, off center, crooked, or both. This happened to cards in every set that was released, some worse than others. The two cards I've shown here are particularly egregious samples, but many of the cards I have are miscut and there's really nothing I can do about it. This is the way the cards came, and I may not have any properly cut cards available. Every collector of Galactic Empires knows this was an issue and has learned to live with it.

Also please note that my order form does not keep track of inventory in real time. This means that it is possible for someone else to purchase a card which is still listed here and I won't have any more available. If this happens with cards from Universe Edition, Time Gates, or Powers of the Mind I will likely reach into my personal collection to fulfill the order, but for other sets I will inform you of my lack of stock before or when I send the invoice and you can decide if you'd like to make any alterations to your order.

Ordering

I'm doing direct sales from my home. I will likely drop packages off at the Post Office or UPS on Tuesdays and Fridays as those are my normal travel days.

I've set up an Order Form where you can select what products you'd like to buy. My site is not set up as a store, so this order form is there just to help you compile the list of items you'd like and generate an e-Mail message to send me. Once I recieve your eMail I will calculate shipping costs and send you a Paypal invoice. Once the invoice is paid I'll package and ship your items.

Shipping

For single cards orders of $10 or less consisting of 10 cards or less I will likely ship in first class mail in a Plain White Envelope and no tracking. For larger or higher value orders I will use a padded envelope. In either case the cards will be packed in card protectors and sandwhiched betwen cardboard to protectet them.

For shipping of larger packages I will be using Pirate Ship to find the cheapest method of shipping. If you prefer a carrier carrier or method please let me know in the initial e-Mail. Shipping costs within the continental United States have typically been $10-$20, while shipping to Canada is more like $25-35 USD, though exact prices vary depening on how many boxes are being shipped.

I will accept international payments and shipments. All packages will be insured at the customers expense and if there are any issues with the package being lost we'll be handled through the shipping carrier's insurance program.

Payment

For the time being all payments will be handled through PayPal's invoicing system. You send me an e-mail with your request, I send you back an invoice requesting payment, and when you pay I'll ship.

If for some reason you cannot use PayPal please drop me an e-Mail at galacticempires42@gmail.com and we can discuss alternatives. I don't have any other online payment processors set up, but may be willing to set up something like Venmo or take a check if need be.
