Aesthetic Empire | Andromeda Bound | Aqaaran Crusaders | Argonian First Republic |
The Aesthetic Empire (a promotional set available from Mint Card Co.) consists of a group of ships with the {Aesthetic} class designation. Companion Games last official pronouncement on what is an Aesthetic Empire card, i.e., having "Aesthetic" in the title, has the unfortunate effect of excluding the S1 Art Patrol, S3 Sculptor, S5 Beautifier and S9 Deleter from their empire. This seems to me an error. I consider those cards to be merely errata'd to be include Aesthetic in their title until Companion Games speaks on this issue.
Aesthetic Weapons: When targetting a combined terrain may target each specific terrain card of that terrain stack, allowing it to be destroyed separately. Aesthetic damage to part of a terrain stack should be tracked separately but may not be used to destroy the basis of any part of the combined terrain stack.
This empire is discussed in the Andromeda Bound section of the Indirigan Tribes entry.
The Aqaaran Tarrac Projector is a potent heavy weapon. Use it. That means you need to use their ships as bases. Which means getting bases to protect your Sector HQ. That means cards like the T8 Refuge - Aqaaran Aquatic Refuge, C6 Base Commander and C7 Tactical Officer. The R/E2 Base Responder and R/O5 Aqaaran Disjunction can also be useful, allowing you to move your ships to terrain and popping them off when your Sector HQ is targetted.
As long as your deck is loaded with bases and ships that can act as bases, you might as well put in cards that work with bases like the C7 Research Developer.

Argonians are an excellent choice for many of the theme decks, since there aren't any special features of the ships to distract you from your theme. They have good carriers for an "Exploding Bee" deck, and the R/E2 Gaseous Protection Chamber (prevents the discard of a crew card) works well for decks that depend on crew.
