Geko decks have a problem. A problem similar to that of Space Dragon, Orgon and psy decks: their ships are easier to kill than those of any empire given equal strength cards. You need to use the various cards which modify weapon volleys against Geko ships: the Geko Gnats, T7 Planet - Gekonauak Outpost and S8 Geko King all reduce incoming volleys. Consider using the various strengths of Space Remoras on your Gnats to bring them back to hand when they would otherwise be discarded. Lastly, fill out your fleet with some generic or minor empire ships to give you a few ships with a little more staying power than the typical Geko ship.

I have found that many of the manuever cards, especially R/O6 Crash Maneuver are not really as effective as I would like.
